About State Trustees

As the public trustee, we provide all Victorians with financial and legal assistance during all stages of their life, including specialised services and products such as Will Writing, Powers of Attorney, Executor Services, Trustee Services, and Personal Financial Administration.

As a HR Generalist, you will you partner with the business to ensure our biggest asset, our People, receive expert strategic and operational advice and guidance on employee and industrial relations matters. You will guide the organisation through complex and high-level Fair Work Act and modern award compliance advice. You will also act as an expert advisor and coach to assist managers on all ER processes and change management matters.

In this critical and influential role, you will be an active contributor on various leadership teams, provide sound strategic coaching and advice, and deliver effective people and culture activities including implementing change initiatives, providing the right advice and enabling people leaders to be effective. A key focus will be partnering with business to foster a constructive culture, create a better employee experience, develop people and embed a performance mindset across State Trustees

Skill & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in human resources/business or equivalent experience
  • Industrial relations experience and expertise
  • Ability to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems
  • Ability to develop highly effective working relationships
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills
  • Able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking
  • Skilled and credible in advising others on empowering people management
  • Willingness to work in other areas of HR to manage peaks in the team's workload and cover for colleagues
