Business Unit Manager

Our client, is a leading and highly successful Melbourne-Based organisation with a reputation for marketing premium and quality products.

Reporting into the General Manager this is a highly visible and business critical role and is a part of the Company’s Senior Leadership Team. In this role you will be actively contributing to the Company’s overall long-term strategy and objectives. You will be responsible for providing strategic and dynamic leadership to the assigned Business Unit. 

 Some key responsibilities include:

  • Execute a Business strategy that drives growth in targeted market segments
  • Manage Business Unit Opex to support overall company consolidated contribution
  • Develop deep market understanding for targeted segments 
  • Use Sales Scorecard that includes all of the relevant sales key performance indicators (KPIs) to coach team and monitor ongoing progress towards the business unit goals 
  • Embed robust and disciplined business processes; Quarterly Business Reviews, Mid-Month Reviews and Deep Dives 
  • Implement relevant Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) drivers in order to create highly satisfied customers in targeted segments 
  • Leverage and collaborate with the relevant Global Marketing Associates and implement best practices locally
  • Set expected levels of performance and accountability within the overall team 
  • Create a team culture that drives, values and rewards performance
  • Foster a winning mind-set 

 To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Minimum 5-8 years in a management role demonstrating sound people management skills
  • 3+ years as a Business Unit manager or Leadership role in a medical or healthcare related industry 
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Science or Medical-related discipline essential, Postgraduate degree desirable 
  • Proven track record of consistent performance and delivering results 
  • Proven track record of building & leading high performance teams 
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry desirable
  • Capabilities in strategic thinking/strategy development as well as tactical execution
