The Role

The Human Resources Officer will support the Human Resources Leadership Team in the implementation of HR strategic initiatives and projects by performing a wide range of HR operational processes and tasks, handling sensitive information while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The role is based in Melbourne and there will be travel requirements approximately once a month to the La Trobe Valley to support our Hazelwood Rehabiiation Project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR data management which inclusdes the preparation, support and insights for metrics reporting
  • Provide support with employment contracts, letters of variation, employee status change forms, position descriptions, organisational charts for the intranet and the coordination of team member onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Provide support to the Learning and Development function by updating and maintaining the training calendar, capture attendance of HR initiated training sessions, ensure training evenets are appropriately managed and advise people leaders on effective implementation of team member development plans as required
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of HR projects such as employee engagement strategis, diversity and inclusion initiatives and events and employee assistance program ambassador program.

About You

The successful incumbent will have knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within human resources, most likely gained from human resources generalist roles. You will be open to differences in perspective and people from a variety of backgrounds and have a preference for organisation, procedure and exactitude. You are able to work without supervision and can prioritise work and be able to collect data and provide relevant analysis.

You will need to have a vehicle to travel to the La Trobe Valley.
