JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will work with a cross-disciplinary, friendly and experienced team to raise awareness and increase participation in Victorian Energy Upgrades - Victoria’s flagship energy efficiency program.

There is an exciting opportunity to provides strategic communications support to the DELWP Energy Demand and Efficiency branch and the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change. 

As Senior Communications Adviser in the Energy Demand and Efficiency Policy branch, you will be providing strategic communications support to the delivery of the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, Victoria's largest energy saving program as well as other major reforms to reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. 

The role requires a candidate with communications, media and social media experience, to be able to provide strategic communications support to focused energy efficiency projects from conceptualisation to roll-out. The candidate should be an energetic self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and have excellent communication, stakeholder management and project management skills.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player, with the flexibility to shift tasks and manage priorities to deliver other team outputs around strategic and operational planning and performance functions.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency and/or energy policy and programs will be well regarded.
  • Experience and a record of achievement in a range of communications disciplines, preferably in a government setting.
  • Extensive experience in managing high-profile relationships within a complex and politically sensitive environment.
