About the Opportunity

St John are proud to be partnering with the Department of Health and other key strategic partners on a number of significant health services to support our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. These include:

  • Vaccination Hub support with requirements for site management, client arrival and liaison, pre-vaccination education, post vaccination monitoring, client follow up and other services supporting the administration of vaccinations.
  • Health and Temperature Screening, including providing guidance to individuals moving in and out of locations, taking temperatures with non-touch thermometers, and recording data as required by clients.
  • PPE safety monitoring, hospital marshalling support, testing site clerks support.
  • Providing Community Transport to people who are vulnerable and the elderly.
  • Other essential health services support in our community.

With these vital initiatives and programs in place and expected to grow significantly, St John are recruiting Support Services Worker who will be engaged in all the activities and deployed across Victoria.

About You

We are seeking positive, outgoing, self-motivated and customer service focused individuals who are committed to healthcare in our community and ready to make an impact. You will be prepared to represent St John with utmost quality and integrity, and passionate about building strong relationships with all members of the public.

We’d like to hear from you if you meet the following essential skills and attributes (selection criteria):

  • Current First Aid qualifications or willing to complete First Aid Training.
  • Must be physically able to both stand and sit for long periods.
  • Minimum availability of 3 days per week ongoing, and flexible to work weekends.
  • Able to meet compliance for all PPE requirements and follow guidance, instructions, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, professional with strong communication skills.
  • High level of reliability with the ability to be flexible with shifts.
  • Capable of staying calm under pressure and consistently exceeding clients’ expectations.
  • Current Driver Licence, Probationary P2 Licence (Green Ps) and above; with reliable vehicle and roadworthy.
  • Willingness to travel across CBD and regional Victoria.
  • Willingness to undertake a current Police check and Working with Children Check.
