The Strategy, Policy And Reform Division Has 27 Employees And Consists Of The

Family Violence Command provides a central focus within Victoria Police to drive the next wave of reform and improvement in policing Family Violence, Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
  • Change Management and Coordination Unit;
  • The Special Investigations Support Unit;
  • Strategic Reform Unit; and
  • Strategy, Policy and Legislation Unit.
Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Family Violence Command, the Director, Strategy, Policy and Reform provides leadership and direction in the provision of strategic reform, project management and delivery of initiatives in relation to Family Violence, Sexual Offences and Child Abuse. We are seeking an experienced leader with a successful track record of formulating, leading and embedding positive strategies and change within large, complex organisations. The incumbent will join the executive leadership team and be a valued member of Victoria Police Command.

Some Of Your Duties Will Include
  • Leading and developing the Division in the provision of a range of strategic programs, projects and initiatives in relation to Family Violence, Sexual Offences and Child Abuse themes.
  • Provide high level authoritative advice to the Assistant Commissioner, Executive Command and Chief Commissioner on strategic issues that are affecting Victoria Police.
  • Leading, developing and valuing people through the provision of coaching, guidance and performance feedback.
  • Enhancing service delivery and responsiveness by leading the development and implementation of efficient organisational policies, practices and services in respect to family violence, sexual offences and child abuse.
  • Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders and representing Victoria Police on government and community committees focusing on family violence, sexual offences and child abuse.

Requirements And Relevant Information
  • Position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The preferred candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment security checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
