An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Analyst on an ongoing basis in Northwest Metro Region. We are the largest, busiest, most dynamic region in Victoria providing policing services to the people of Melbourne and surrounds. The Business Analyst/Project Coord role is attached to the Regional Business Service Division, which is primarily focussed on the provision of high-level strategic resource management advice and business and administrative services, including business and strategic planning, human resource management.

The role requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to changing environments, is experienced with agile practices, and has experience managing competing priorities to deliver timely and fit-for-purpose outcomes.

Your Duties Will Include

  • Undertake research and statistical analysis using modelling techniques on the effectiveness and efficiency of specific business drivers and practices.
  • Prepare high level reports on all aspects of the Regions Business performance identifying trends and emerging issues.
  • Develop, analyse and combine/manipulate data from different systems for the timely collection, collation and storage of statistical data relating to significant Human/Financial resources drivers.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of assigned project(s) to ensure service delivery targets and key milestones are achieved in accordance with the approved Project Plan.
As The Successful Applicant, You Will Have
  • Experience in influencing business plans by providing strategic analysis in relation to regional budgeting and financial management, human resource management including employee health and safety, and information technology activities.
  • High level negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in the preparation of comprehensive reports, plans, proposals, Business Cases.
  • Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated experience in operating a wide range of software Application and other Microsoft product with proven ability to develop and analyse complex information. (knowledge of Visual basics would be an advantage)

  • Position tenure: Ongoing, full time
  • Position location: Victoria Police Centre (VPC), 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Salary: $87,640 plus superannuation
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
