As a Data Platform Technical Specialist in our Microsoft Team, your impact will be seen by:

  • Managing the technical delivery using either of Agile or Waterfall methodologies in project delivery
  • Oversee and implement data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform using a combination of Azure native services or Industry solutions (XaaS)
  • Develop and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial and operational analysis and/or reporting
  • Develop highly performant, secure, reliable and scalable solutions
  • Author, oversee and gain approval of design documents for projects assigned
In this role, you could be part of an engagement where you could be developing data ingestion frameworks and modules, building data models, reports, dashboards & scorecards, data exploration and visual analytics using existing and emerging tools and technology. Please note it is not a requirement for you to be expert in all of what is listed below, rather we would look for individuals with T-shaped skills that covers:
  • Expertise with data ingestion using Scala or Python
  • Expertise with writing queries in SQL based MPP or NoSQL systems
  • Expertise with compute services using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, HDInsights
  • Expertise with writing applications or APIs using Azure Function, Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus
  • Expertise with real time data ingestion using Azure Event Hub, Stream Analytics
  • Expertise with database services of Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL
  • Expertise with data lakes resources using Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
  • Expertise with monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Kusto queries
  • Expertise with Azure Key Vaults for credentials management
  • Prior experience with modeling of data using 3NF, Snowflake, or Start methodologies would be advantageous
  • Prior experience with performing data migration including performance tuning of high volume transactions and databases would be advantageous as well
  • Good understanding of Spark and distributed computing

You have a solid background in Microsoft Azure Data and Engineering stack and are capable of using technology to solve business problems and you are quick to learn new concepts. You must have demonstrated experience in implementing enterprise grade solutions using various Azure services including the native Azure stack.
