Ambulance Victoria (AV) is seeking an innovative and experienced Project Manager who will be able to effortlessly navigate and deliver a program of capital works projects for AV's Property Services Department. This is a full-time, fixed term role for 2 years. The successful candidate will have the flexibility of working from our offices in Blackburn North and also from home.

About the role

Reporting to the Property Development Manager, Property Services in our Corporate Services Division, the role will manage key capital works projects and packages including major and minor works of Ambulance Branches and Corporate Accommodation. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing large and complex projects across multiple work streams as well as delivering smaller projects and initiatives from time to time.
  • Ensuring project governance is maintained including the AV Property Development Process, organisational policies & procedures and ensuring timelines, budget, compliance, and quality objectives are maintained
  • Identifying, managing, escalating and resolving project risks and issues
  • Gathering, analysing and interpreting data to support project activities and objectives; and
  • Developing strong partnerships with project stakeholders, both internally and externally including vendors, contractors, suppliers and government agency counterparts in relation to planning, program management in order to deliver the key outcomes to achieve the organisational objectives.

About you

You will possess program and/or project management qualifications or certifications, or demonstrate equivalent experience across a range of methodologies, including PRINCE2, Waterfall and Agile. Your proven skills in managing complex and/or high risk projects with multiple stakeholders, in a fluid, dynamic and agile working environment will be highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering complex construction projects in scope and in budget, supported by accreditation in a business acumen being construction, engineering or similar background. Experience in a government environment is desirable, but not essential.

You will have completed a variety of projects and are comfortable with projects that are potentially challenging both technically and complex. Your solid understanding of the full project lifecycle, as well as your excellent time management and communication skills, will ensure that you become a valued team member in a hardworking team environment.

Your strategic thinking, well developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills including an eye for detail, will enable you to identify issues and risks and determine appropriate courses of action. Your drive, enthusiasm and energy coupled with your solid planning and organisational skills, will see you successfully deliver outcomes within the specified timeframes.

Excellent written communication (e.g. Reporting, Briefing Notes, Business Cases, other project documentation) as well as proficient in a variety of IT platforms including Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Visio, Project Professional or similar) and adaptability to multiple reporting tools,e.g. Oracle and Oracle Business Intelligence and EPM/SharePoint.

Finally, your excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, together with your ability to influence and gain support from internal and external stakeholders, will be key to building and maintaining effective working relationships.

AV has introduced salary bands, and this position is graded at AV5. The salary range on offer for this position is $119,839 - 141,669 plus 9.5% superannuation.
