The Role

The Utilities Engineering Department provides maintenance services across the CSLBroadmeadows site. Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer this role is a Refrigeration Technician where you will be responsible for the upkeep of systems, plant and equipment
You will ideally be able to assess, diagnose and repair root cause issues with systems and equipment that use refrigerants to ensure downtime is minimised.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out System/Plant Fault corrections and preventative maintenance.
  • Performing tasks allocated to you by the maintenance engineer which will include repairs and participation in start-up and shut down of the plant.
  • Locating and accurately log use of parts from the engineering warehouse store.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Engineer as and when required with the planning, scheduling and conduct of major work.
  • Recording work activities on executed Work Orders, ensuring that:
    • the data supplied contributes to a meaningful history of maintenance on the equipment
    • the need for further action is brought to the attention of the Maintenance Engineer
    • all materials used are recorded.
    • Executed Work Orders are closed on Computerised Maintenance Management System.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in the maintenance and operation of commercial/industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, resulting in demonstrated expertise in fault diagnosis and corrective action in large industrial refrigeration plant.
  • Preferred but not mandatory mechanical maintenance/servicing of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in a modern pharmaceutical process plant or similar facility.
  • Relevant trade qualifications and certification in Australia to repair and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software packages and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Honest, well-mannered, highly motivated and enjoy utilising your initiative to solve mechanical related problems in the process and plant environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software packages and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Be able to fulfill your duties with a high degree of autonomy
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet business needs, including shift patterns, working during facility shutdowns and be available after hours in support of manufacturing.
  • Experience working within a regulated/GMP environment and an understanding of the strict hygiene and traceability standards that apply will be highly regarded.
