The Role:

The Business Development Manager will drive the positioning and growth of the ENGIE Australia generation asset portfolio on renewable and new energy assets through acquisitions, mergers, development partnerships, participation in government and regulatory schemes to enable projects, optimising current assets and other energy related technology developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate business growth opportunities (primarily generation assets) and their value in support of our asset goals;
  • Lead pursuit of opportunities and processes to incorporate them into our portfolio (e.g., via partnership, acquisition or greenfield origination);
  • Manage the development of project business cases as they progress towards execution and support achievement of successful financial close of projects and includes the effective and clear documentation detailing the nature and key considerations of business opportunities and/or risks;
  • Monitor, identify and participate in asset-specific offtake opportunities including government tenders and network support services
  • Provide effective project management and includes control, assessment, resourcing, timing of projects and provide relevant expertise input to project developments to lead and support other project team members.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have gained extensive experience in project development in the renewable energy sector with demonstrable success in achieving project financial close. You will have well developed project management skills from planning, budgets, reporting, risk and have experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a project environment. You are able to maintain views on technology, regulatory changes and the competitive market and their potential impact on or changes to our business strategy. You can balance stakeholders, communicate effectively, and collaborate well with others to meet shared objectives.
