Salary: $67,236.00 to $89,902.80

The Department

The Medical Imaging Department provides imaging services for both inpatient and outpatients across a range of modalities which include conventional x-ray, CT, MRI, MR PET, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Cardiac Catheter Lab, DSA and Fluoroscopy. As a registered nurse you will contribute to our service working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

The Position

A RCH Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with RCH and Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia Standards. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes; performing self-assessment of scope of practice and competence related to assigned responsibilities as discussed with the care delivery team; retaining responsibility for individual actions and accountability for care provided.

Medical Imaging nurses care for children with ages ranging from the newborn to the young person. The nursing role combines the care of the child and family with the demands of complex diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology imaging procedures.

We currently have an opportunity in a part-time ongoing capacity working a five days per fortnight (5x9hr shifts) Monday to Friday with an on-call service for out of hour’s emergencies.

To Be Successful In The Role, You Will Have

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as necessary
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment.
  • Paediatric experience is desirable
  • Evidence of on-going professional development as reflected in your Professional Practice Portfolio
