About the Unit


The acute aged persons’ mental health unit is a 30 bed unit for people aged 65 and over. We offer our patients a range of activity groups, quiet leafy courtyards and gender sensitive areas. We have ECT facilities onsite. In joining our team, you will be part of a highly dedicated multi-disciplinary team incorporating medical, nursing, clerical and allied health professionals. We pride ourselves on providing our patients with timely access to high quality care. We are a cohesive, diverse and gender-friendly team who also place importance on our own self-care and wellbeing.


About the Role


We’re looking for someone who will bring ideas, enthusiasm, passion and an ethos of patient-centred care to the team. As the NUM, you’ll have sound clinical knowledge and experience in leadership and management. You will effectively coordinate and manage the ward, and ensure a strong commitment to customer service, safety and high quality care. You will also ensure professional standards and Eastern Health policies are upheld and great patient outcomes are achieved.


About you



  • Current registration with AHPRA (essential)

  • Recent mental health nursing experience (within Australia)

  • Post graduate mental health qualifications (essential)

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

  • An empathetic and personable demeanour

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • The ability and experience to confidently lead a diverse team
