We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Maintenance Delivery Manager to join our team in VIC - Pakenham. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

The Lead Maintenance Delivery Manager is responsible for managing, mentoring and developing the team of Maintenance Delivery Managers and supporting them in their daily activities to meet and exceed Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People targets. With a focus on driving a high performing workforce, this role is responsible for maximising the utilisation of resources and assets, whilst implementing continuous improvement activities through lean and best practice benchmarks.

This position will provide strong leadership and direction to support the MDM Team and the Multi Skilled Workforce in ensuring preventative maintenance, fault analysis process and relevant rectification work is carried out to the correct standards and time frames.

Primarily this role will be performed on day shift but you will be required to be flexible and support the 24/7 roster where required to ensure there is always the appropriate level of management on site.

About You:

  • Significant leadership and team management experience, driving a high performing accountable workforce over multiple shifts.
  • Demonstrated drive to activate change within a team, directed towards strategic outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence Safety culture and lead a wide variety of staff in the performance of their duties in a safe and effective manner
  • Demonstrable application of LEAN methodologies within a production environment
  • Ability to apply creative and advanced problem solving skills and Kaizen change action, to effectively resolve complex issues, reduce cost, enhance quality and increase productivity
  • Ability to drive projects and complete within specified time frames
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with excellent customer service skills and sound judgement and decision making skills developed in various unionised environments.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and management of work schedules and working to budgets.
  • Meet the requirements of a rail safety worker

Desirable but not essential

  • Trade qualifications and/or significant experience in a large production/maintenance or rolling stock maintenance/service/overhaul environment
  • Lean production techniques such as TPM, VSM, 5’s, Waste reduction, RCA, Kaizen, SMED
