To support strong growth and to add to an already established team the company would like to appoint an Environmental Instrumentation Lead. This role offers a competitive remuneration package including bonus + relocation expenses.

The Company

Our client is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of critical environmental monitoring hardware for weather, water, energy, gas flux and turbulence, infrastructure, and soil measurement across a wide range of sectors (agriculture, research, meteorology, hydrology, industrial, and mining). These systems utilise data loggers and sensors to provide critical data in harsh, remote environments, including flood warning systems and remote meteorological stations. As each measurement application is unique.

The exciting new role

To support strong growth and to add to an already established team the company would like to appoint an Environmental Instrumentation Lead to focus on supporting clients and play a key role in coaching junior to intermediate staff.

The Environmental Instrumentation Lead will be responsible for:

  • Providing Technical pre- and post-sales support to clients and the Application Engineering (AE) team.
  • Working with clients to design bespoke systems, preparing project scope and design documentation, preparing quotations, managing system production and coordinating post-sales support.
  • Providing technical expertise and advice on the selection of suitable instrumentation and measurement hardware.
  • Providing project support in the planning and delivery and implementation of these solutions.
  • Undertaking programming for data logger communications, testing, and identifying bugs.

The successful candidate

To be successful in this role the successful candidate will require:

  • Relevant technical experience in a related instrumentation field utilising data loggers and sensors.
  • Relevant qualification such as Electronic/Electrical Engineering or other relevant Engineering qualification, or Environmental Science or other relevant Science qualification, Physics, and/or IT.
  • Experience providing system design, pre and post technical sales support for similar instruments or other relevant instruments.
  • Capability with communications protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, MQTT, ethernet connections, serial communications, internet protocols and satellite/radio/other communication technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to write data logger programs.

Remuneration

A competitive base salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate. The remuneration includes superannuation and a potential bonus based on company and individual performance.

Relocation assistance is offered that includes temporary accommodation.
