About the role

We are excited to offer the Company Secretarial role to candidates who thrive in com sec functions and looking ideally for permanent part time. This role will see you delivering robust governance and company secretariat activities for the EnergyAustralia group entities and joint ventures, shareholders and management and also become part of the broader Legal and Governance function. Our well-established team are supportive, inclusive and highly professional and look forward to welcoming their new team member to continue adding value across EnergyAustralia in two key areas;

  • day-to-day corporate governance activities, ensuring legal compliance and conformance with recognised principles of good corporate governance.
  • developing positive and respectful relationships not just within the Legal and Governance function but as a representative of the com sec team with key stakeholders including EnergyAustralia Holdings Limited board members, executive management team, subsidiary directors and our shareholder.

What we’re looking for:

The successful appointee will demonstrate Company secretarial experience gained from mid to large companies where they have thrived in a highly organised team, and have developed respectful and supportive roles with the immediate team, senior executives, board and key stakeholders. They will have performed the duties and demonstrated the capabilities set out below;

  • Proven ability to interpret regulatory obligations and governance requirements
  • Thrived in a dynamic, fast-paced environment whilst meeting set deadlines/schedules
  • Exceptional attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated capability to handle last minute requests with a calm, patient yet sense of urgency style
  • Tertiary qualified with at least a diploma of corporate governance or equivalent company secretarial practice.
  • Experienced using on-line or web-based board portals and corporate records management solutions
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, is a self-starter, shown initiative & a logical approach to progressing matters
  • Displayed a highly collaborative, curious, flexible, transparent, supportive & respectful working style
  • Willingness to learn new things, test processes that could be more efficient and not afraid to ask for guidance or clarification to ensure on the right track
