Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join an established team working on our Zendesk Marketplace, part of our Developer Ecosystem and Developer Platform.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the Zendesk platform. You’ll work on the customer experience, helping our customers to discover, install, configure, and manage apps, themes, and other offerings in our growing Marketplace. These offerings allow our customers to extend the capabilities of many Zendesk products and our partners to build a business on top of the Zendesk platform.

This is a full-stack development role in a cross-functional team collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams around the world.

  • Delivering measurable value to customers as often as possible.
  • Owning your products end to end from discovery through to development and deployment. We share a vision for what we build and support our products on call.
  • Working with an established, collaborative, and cross-functional team.
  • Applying best practices to satisfy our priorities of code excellence and high availability software
  • Making our products resilient, performant, stable, and secure
  • Proactively contributing to improving our infrastructure, code, and processes.
  • Challenging assumptions and embracing change. Participating in technical discussions and contributing your ideas to complex, sophisticated problems
  • Working on software that touches millions of users in every corner of the world.
What you bring to the role
  • A background in shipping high quality web applications using any languages or technologies
  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts to engineers of different capabilities and non-technical partners alike.
  • Experience troubleshooting difficult problems across multiple systems
  • Experience pairing with engineers, brainstorming, and working together to make decisions in a collaborative environment
  • A culture of mentoring, learning, growth and innovation.
  • You’re comfortable jumping into unfamiliar codebases and languages.
Tech Stack
  • We write most of our code in Ruby and React but may have opportunities to work with other languages in the future such as Go. You don’t need to have any prior experience with these languages, only enthusiasm to learn them after you join!
  • Our infrastructure includes Kubernetes and AWS
  • Our tooling includes GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Samson
