Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting a Senior Materials Controller to join our Operations business supporting one of our key energy clients in the Asia Pacific (APAC) West region. This is a 12-month contract role within the Supply Chain team based in at Perth Distribution Centre at Perth Airport.

Reporting to the Procurement & Materials Lead and working as part of a collaborative Supply Chain team you will be responsible for material management, receipt, staging and dispatch of all project materials and equipment in accordance with company procedures ensuring that all activities are auditable and traceable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Goods receipting of materials into Wood VPRM materials system ensuring alignment to client SAP data
  • Coordinating the storage and staging of materials in accordance with Brownfields project and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology
  • Coordinating the dispatch of materials for implementation in accordance Brownfields project job card allocations
  • Ensuring that materials are correctly packed and consolidated into job card lots in accordance with Wood processes
  • Maintaining VPRM materials Management system data integrity with up to date and accurate data
  • Assisting procurement in the resolution of Over, Short and Damaged materials at goods receipt
  • Assisting Wood personnel to inspect and audit project materials to support Readiness for Implementation (RFI)

Skills / Qualifications

Ideally you have 7+ years supply chain experience across both expediting and materials control, working for an EPCM within the Oil & Gas industry. Degree qualification in Business and / or MCIPS Qualifications would be advantageous.

What will set you apart will be your advanced SAP skills coupled with proven experience working across different Material Management Systems.

In addition, you will have:

  • A thorough understanding of Procurement concepts and principles
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of Supply Chain management software
  • Intermediate skills in Oracle, VPRM and Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) including being highly skilled in report writing and coordinating / chairing meetings in client interfacing roles
  • A service centric focus that engages internal and external stakeholders while building effective working relationships
  • A meticulous and methodical approach to your profession coupled with a sense of urgency to deliver
