About the Role:

CFA, as an emergency services organisation, relies on effective and smooth operation of all CFA ICT Networks, including WAN, LAN, security, Unified Communications and overall performance of the Datacentres infrastructure, to ensure that critical support can occur 24/7.

As Network Administrator you will be responsible for the administration of CFA's mission-critical ICT network infrastructure including modification and changes, upgrades, replacement and refreshment, aligning the support provided with the established technical procedures and process architectures required to operate and support CFA's business requirements. Additional and detailed responsibilities are found in the Position Description and include:

  • Providing timely, professional and expert advice, guidance and solutions on the CFA Networks and Datacentre infrastructure in line with service level agreements across the State.
  • Performing installation, configuration and maintenance on network devices and unified communications in accordance with prescribed procedures, schedules and client expectations.
  • Facilitating preventative and ongoing systems management and administration for all network devices covered under service level agreements.

About You:

To succeed in this key role, you should be tertiary qualified in Computer Science, Communications or Engineering with further relevant industry certifications and hold credible equivalent experience in similar roles in large and complex enterprise environments including significant IT project management experience. CCNA certification is essential and CCNP certification will be especially valued and you will demonstrate experience with various security and authentication methods such as RADIUS, Active Directory, Certificates etc.

Further to this, you will have demonstrated knowledge of various LAN technologies such as structured building cabling, fibre and wireless technologies and knowledge of IP telephony protocols such as SIP and SCCP and knowledge of ITIL based change management methodologies is a must.

You will have strong liaison and negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other team members and clients under pressure and to strict deadlines.
