The Wetlands View Restaurant is nestled at TAHBILK WINERY situated in the Nagambie Lakes wine region, approximately 8 km south of Nagambie in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley and 1.5 hours north of Melbourne.

Established in 1860, Tahbilk Winery is Victoria’s oldest family-owned winery and vineyard and one of Australia’s most historic and beautiful Estates.

The Restaurant overlooks the Tabilk-Tabilk Wetlands which supports rich biodiversity and an impressive suite of natural values. The 6km circuit of walking paths and boardwalks, including the ‘Long Bridge’ built around 1889, will bring you up close to a number of endangered and threatened flora and fauna.

Our normal trading hours are Thursday to Monday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm with occasional special event work after hours. At full capacity, the restaurant accommodates up to 150 covers.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager and supported by a dedicated team we are seeking a qualified Full-time Head Chef 

The responsibilities are:

  • Develop and deliver a clean, fresh, and seasonal menu
  • Efficient costing of menus 
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and training to the restaurant back of house team
  • Organise monthly kitchen staff rosters, ordering, budgeting, labour costs, and maintenance of equipment
  • Adhere to Hygiene and OH&S standards

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Chef and hospitality
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Passion for working with local fresh produce and pairing wine 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity to develop additional offerings for the winery
  • Available for occasional evening work
