JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Balance Sheet Accountant reporting to the Finance Systems Accountant to work in a motivated and fast paced team.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that transactions of the business have been properly accounted and accurately reflected in the company's balance sheet and accounting process. The sub functions to support aspects of Payroll, Systems and Treasury activities.

Some of the duties include (but not limited to);

  • Ensure that all reconciliations have been completed and reviewed by specified deadlines
  • Perform and complete various reconciliations at month end and during Month relating to inventory reevaluations, purchase price variances, customer returns, accruals, Intercompany expenses and cross charges
  • Support to manage and delegation of the company's annual and half yearly external audit tasks and ensuring that these are submitted before specified deadlines
  • Management of daily cash balances and trading in the financial markets and submitted results to Global Treasury
  • Organize and manage the company's close the books checklist and internal controls at month end is completed and reviewed against Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance
  • Conduct budgeting and forecasting for Expatriate payroll and submitted for approval
  • Ensure that all 48 Hour Internal Audit tasks are submitted before specified deadlines to US Corporate
  • Supports systems tasks in ERP monthly processes including costing updates, invoicing updates and other system queries
  • Continuous improvement of internal accounting and control systems
  • Providing information required for Internal/External audit purposes
  • Compiles, consolidates, and conducts analysis of various accounting and finance information.

Ideally you will have the following;

  • Bachelor degree in Business with postgraduate CPA and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in all aspects of finance, accounting, reporting and compliance both within ANZ and US multinationals
  • A thorough understanding and previous accounting and finance experience
  • Strong experience in ERP systems
  • Proactive and positive approach with a keen eye for detail
  • Problem solving skills and excellent analytical abilities
  • Customer focussed
