This Senior Solicitor Child Protection position will work within the DHHS Child Protection Program. As a leader, you will be expected to perform under limited direction, and will be required to be fully operational in this position. You will be responsible for the provision of expert legal advice, professional support to Child Protection employees and managers; and representation for Child Protection in matters before courts. A demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide accurate and appropriate advice to other team members will be vital. The Senior Solicitor role also conducts litigation on behalf of Child Protection in a range of higher jurisdiction matters and other related jurisdictions (e.g. VCAT) as necessary.
