About the Centre/Service

Surrounded by beautiful parks and tree lined streets, Flinders Preschool is set in an "old style" weatherboard house and a superb adventure garden just ripe for exploration, offering children a play-based program where they learn at their own pace, in a natural setting using integrated teaching and learning approaches. This means that there is a combination of guided play and learning, adult-led learning, and child-initiated learning. Flinders Pre School provides quality early childhood education delivered by professional staff in a warm and nurturing way that addresses the individual needs of each child and their unfolding identities. Our primary focus is the happiness, growth, education and wellbeing of every child. We provide our children with the education, care and support they need to grow and develop into happy, healthy people and be ready and confident for school. Flinders Pre School is a community kindergarten run by a voluntary parent committee working in an honorary capacity.

Description

  • Temporary Maternity Leave Cover to 3 year old group
  • Beginning Tuesday 13th July 2021 – Friday 17th September 2021 (Term 3 2021)
  • Flexibility required as possible rollover in to Term 4 may be required
  • Deliver innovative services that promote and support our play based kinder program and community.
  • Specific responsibilities will be to a 3YO group of 20 children in a role of lead teacher.
  • The role is appointed to support the diverse needs of the group, culturally, educationally and developmentally.

Qualifications

Qualifications suitable for an early childhood teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law. Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide Be registered as an Early Childhood Teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, and continue to renew/maintain the registration during the course of employment Must be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor or be nominated as a person in a leadership position or with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the service in accordance with the Regulations if required by the Approved Provider.
