About the organisation

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) is the regulator for the building and plumbing industries in Victoria. The Plumbing Advisory Council (PAC) is an advisory body that provides advice on the plumbing industry and regulation of plumbing work in Victoria to the Minister for Planning. The Victorian Government is seeking expressions of interest for the position of PAC Chair, and for multiple Commissioners within the VBA.


About the role

As a Chair for the Plumbing Advisory Council, you will draw on your skills and professional expertise to support PAC in carrying out its functions, to improve outcomes for both the industry and consumers. You will use your skills and professional expertise to lead and inform the collective decision-making of PAC in line with its defined role. The role of Commissioner for the Victorian Building Authority will require you to support the Board in carrying out its regulatory functions for the betterment of the building and plumbing industries. 

About you

You have a strong reputation as a leader within industry with exemplary levels of professional credibility and integrity. To be considered for the Chair of the PAC you will need to have substantial knowledge of the plumbing industry in Victoria, practical and in-depth knowledge of public administration and corporate governance within the regulatory environment, and present with board leadership and executive level experience. To be considered for a Commissioner, you will have practical and in-depth knowledge of public administration and corporate governance within the regulatory environment, and present with board leadership and executive level experience. Candidates for either position will also demonstrate excellent communication skills and knowledge of and familiarity with the Victorian building industry combined with a commitment to the betterment of the industry.
