Social Media Specialist 

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a creative Social Media Specialist who plays across a myriad of social platforms to join our team. We are a thriving Melbourne-based consumer sales and marketing agency that specialises in retail and FMCG.

Working closely with the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for planning, creating and producing content that supports brand strategies and campaigns for a range of clients. You have awareness of the importance of creating a community via social media platforms and the ability to read and understand the consumer. You are super passionate about all things social and love what you do! 

About the Role: 

  • Generate content, idea generation and copywriting for all channels, from humorous to informative CTA copy, recognising tone of voice and consistency in each brand 
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends, audience preferences and use of analytics to measure the success of social media campaigns 
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies 
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics to track user engagement and suggest content optimization 
  • Identify opportunities to effectively leverage partnerships through brand collaborations and influencer engagement 
  • Plan, manage and implement content calendars and marketing campaigns including social media, web, email 
  • Manage and track budgets and associated financial processes 
  • Deliver post-campaign reports 
  • Day-to-day account management including building and managing stakeholder relationships 
  • Manage key marketing activations 

About You: 

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications or Digital Media (preferred but not essential) 
  • 2+ years experience in either Social Media or Digital Marketing 
  • Possess awareness, understanding, and relationship management and the ability to understand the needs of our clients
  • Ability to implement social media plans across various segments, markets & platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & TikTok 
  • Demonstrated experience in aligning audience needs with marketing strategies and objectives to deliver strong ROI 
  • Are a team player and can manage multiple projects and diverse/conflicting deadlines 
  • Experience proof checking ads and artwork for print 
  • Ability to be self-driven, take initiative and possess common-sense 
  • Capable to take ownership of tasks and at times, work autonomously 
  • A willingness to travel for work 

Additional skill sets  

Photography and knowledge of the Adobe Suite are preferred but not essential. 

Drivers Licence is required.

Salary Range 

To be agreed in-line with experience and skillset.
