Global media brand requires experienced Social Media Content Producer to engage their audience in new & exciting ways across various social channels.

As a highly respected pure digital media publishing business, this iconic global news player has for many years been synonymous with independent and high-quality journalism and enjoys a passionate and ever-growing online global audience.

As their operation continues to thrive and expand here in Australia, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Media Content Producer who's looking to make their mark within a truly progressive and ethical media publishing organisation.

This organisation exists purely online, and with the ever growing rise of social media they understand the need to be communicating with their audiences regularly through the various social channels that new exist. Working within the Social Media team of the business, your role will be to engage regularly with the loyal audience of the organisation through the likes of Isntagram, Tiktok, Facebook and Google etc.

You will be a true communicator and social media pro, with a defined skill set in either video, graphic design and/or written word. We are open to a variety of skillsets, however there will need to be a specilialisation in atleaset one of the above areas.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • As directed by the off-platform, video and audience editors, create static, video or written content for social platforms in a timely manner with the aim of engaging and informing an Australian audience.
  • Contribute towards the planning, production, publishing and archiving of content across social channels, with a primary focus on Google Web Stories, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Drawing on brand theme, design, build and maintain templates for easy execution across social platforms, including the various dimensions for each format.
  • Work with the multimedia and data visualisation teams to share resources and execute projects for key stories and key audiences.
  • Stay on top of fast-moving news cycle and distil the essence of news stories for social media consumption.
  • Keep up to date with the latest social media developments and understanding of audience behaviour on social platforms.
  • Source and curate community voices for the creation of user-generated content.
  • Quality check posts to assure high technical and editorial quality.
  • Help to promote best practice in social media around the organisation
  • Help build relationships with key teams across the organisation, sharing insights to help evolve the organisation’s understanding of online audiences and new visual formats
  • Take part in the upkeep and maintenance of social accounts as required.
Knowledge and experience
  • Experience working with social media platforms, ideally Instagram, TikTok, Twitter or Snapchat, underpinned by a nuanced understanding of each platform’s unique ecosystem.
Necessary capabilities should include a number of the following:
  • Ability to produce and edit videos for social media in a timely manner from start to finish using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to design and produce static social content using Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of After Effects with an ability to animate for video
  • Ability to shoot footage
  • Strong writing skills with a flair for summarising long, complex stories into engaging and concise copy suitable for social media audiences.
  • Experience working in a newsroom desired but not essential.
