About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will perform as a Musician (multi skilled Pipe Band Drummer) with the Victoria Police Pipe Band.

Reporting to the Music Director, Victoria Police Pipe Band, whose primary role is to support Corporate (Victoria Police) and Government Programmes, including Ceremonial and Community Engagement.

Your duties will include:

  • Participate in Corporate (Victoria Police) and Government Programmes, including Ceremonial and Community Engagement events.

  • Participate and contribute to training activities to ensure a high standard of performance.

  • Maintain quality of all Uniform items, musical instruments and IT equipment, ensuring optimal condition.

  • Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven skills as a multi skilled Pipe Band drummer (Snare, Bass and Tenor).

  • Ability to perform whilst marching.

  • Substantive Ensemble and SOLO performance knowledge and experience.

  • Proficiency preferred in the use of music programmes including: - Logicpro, Sebelius and DrumScriobh for arranging with other musical instruments.

  • To be assessed as having a performance standard equivalent to RSPBA/PBA – Intermediate Certificate level for the Musical role required.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • 1 full-time ongoing position

  • Position will be located at the Victoria Police Academy, View Mount Road, Glen Waverley, Vic. 3150.

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
