Located on the beautiful Great South Coast, South West Healthcare offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and psychiatric services. The organisation serves a catchment in excess of 110,000 and comprises of a total of 282 beds and an extensive range of primary and community services. Warrnambool boasts excellent sporting, education (pre-school to university), social and cultural facilities. The city’s award winning foreshore promenade is a 5.7km path that stretches from the breakwater along the coastline to the Hopkins River mouth.

The Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV) model was developed to provide a system-wide approach which is now being applied by hospitals across Victoria. Based on international best practice, the model has overarching principles and key implementation elements for a staged approach that is applicable to any Victorian health setting committed to improving its response to family violence.

We are seeking applications from suitably experienced and qualified persons for the temporary (12 months) full time position of SHRFV Project Manager. The role involves supporting the ongoing implementation of the SHRFV model within South West Healthcare and other healthcare services within our region. As the project enters its final year, there is a strong focus on sustainability beyond the life of the project.

What you bring

The successful applicant will have experience in a healthcare service or hospital and be able to lead and manage complex projects; hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work or another relevant health related field, have the ability to work independently or within a team and display the capacity to communicate in both a written and verbal context to a range of stakeholders.

Experience in the area of family violence or prevention of violence against women, driving cultural change and/or developing programs, a formal qualification in project management and an understanding of adult learning and education with the confidence to present to small and large audiences is desirable.
