Position Details

The newly created Data Governance Analyst role will help transform how data is organised, managed and leveraged within the Victorian Ombudsman (VO), in order to manage risks and meet current & future data governance and management requirements.

Using your drive, enthusiasm and smarts you will take the lead in Data Governance initiatives. You will support the education, delivery, implementation and ongoing management of a new Data Governance Framework across the organisation. Through flexible thinking and stakeholder management you will improve the understanding and quality of data at the VO to achieve business outcomes.

  • Reporting line: Business Insights Lead
  • Band: VPS 5.1 – VPS 5.2
  • Salary Range: $101,120 – $122,348
  • Tenure: Ongoing or 24-month max fixed-term role available (1 FTE)

We're the Victorian Ombudsman. Our office provides a free, independent, accessible and impartial service to all Victorians. Our purpose is to ensure fairness for Victorians in their dealings with the public sector, to improve public administration and to foster confidence in the integrity of the sector.

You will bring to this opportunity a mix of experience in:

  • A Data Governance and Management role, within a large & complex environment/organisation
  • Implementing and communicating Data Management & Governance theory & practice in plain language
  • Stakeholder management with demonstrated experience building trusted relationships cross-functionally
  • Flexible thinking approaches, with the enthusiasm to improve the understanding and quality of data to drive business outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer, Information or Data Science.
