The Department of Transport brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build and operate Victoria's transport system. Our job is to further integrate the transport network and improve the delivery of services to Victorians for simpler, quicker and safer journeys that connect people and places and support Victoria's prosperity and liveability.   • Annual Salary Range: $101,120 – $122,348 plus superannuation
  • Tenure: Fixed Term [9 Month]
  • Employment Type: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual Work Location: Geelong (flexibility may be available)

About the Team

The purpose of this division is to deliver transport operations across all modes that provides a single user interface to the transport network.

About the Opportunity

The Team Leader – Development, leads a multi-disciplined team which identifies, designs and bids for critical projects to upgrade, enhance and maintain the transport network. The role operates autonomously to lead their team to identify priority investments and design world-class transport solutions; whilst meeting agreed targets of scope, cost, time and relevant design standards.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will have;

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team to oversee the development of multiple projects within scope, budget and timeframes;
  • Stakeholder Management: Is adept at complex stakeholder management identifying issues for multiple stakeholders to build mutually beneficial partnerships; Identifies and responds to stakeholders needs without compromising on cost, safety, quality or delivery schedules.
  • Planning and Organising: Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities whilst identifying processes, tasks and resources required to deliver objectives. Ensures projects are delivered on time, to budget and to strict quality standards. Recognises barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them.
  • Project Management: Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders; Produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and steps for achieving them are clearly specified; Monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; Ensures project objectives are met.
  • Contract Management: Uses fair, transparent and competitive purchasing processes; Establishes clear and comprehensive contracts; Establishes and maintains strong working relationships; Actively monitors expenditure and risks and resolves problems where these arise.
