JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Full-Time Chef to lead our team post the COVID19 pandemic. We are busy group of Malaysian Restaurants, Eat & Smile Pty Ltd t/a Ipoh Town situated in the heart of Sydney CBD with an excellent working environment. Applicant must be passionate and have good attitude as well as being a team player. We are always face with challenges and successful applicants must not be afraid to take on challenges. This role will be fully responsible for their department and will report to the Director of the Company.

Your Roles and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Preparation of ingredients and cooking foods
  • Ensure storing of food complies to food safety standards, labelling of all food in storage;
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s SOP, 
  • Portion food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes;
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs;
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas;
  • Ordering and receiving goods from suppliers, ensure all receiving of goods protocol are met in accordance to Company policy;
  • Ensure storing of food complies to food safety standards, labelling of all food in storage; and

Ideal candidate for this role will need to possess the following Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience in Asian kitchens (preferably Malaysian/Singapore cuisine);
  • Possess a good attitude & a team player;
  • Attention to detail and good problem solving skills;
  • Good understanding of south-east Asian traditional dishes, its ingredients, paste and sauces.
  • Must have good understand in food safety protocols and compliance;
