Job Description

We are looking for a talented Marketing Manager to deliver subscriber engagement growth for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Brisbane Times and WAtoday.

As an Engagement Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving marketing strategies to grow our digital subscription revenue and create a holistic view of engagement opportunities per brand using data and insights to deliver a continuous program of work. This includes targeted and automated onboarding journeys to annual and tactical engagement campaigns—managing the process from strategy, creative development and delivery, through to post-campaign reporting and optimisation.

You will work with the Senior Engagement Manager based in our Sydney office, collaborate closely with product and editorial stakeholders across the business, and with your Consumer Marketing team colleagues execute strategic and tactical marketing plans to achieve revenue and ROI goals.

This is an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for a passionate marketer to join our Melbourne office and enhance the subscriber experience with our brands.

In this role you will:
Develop and execute marketing campaigns for the Metro mastheads to drive engagement objectives and achieve revenue goals.

Manage and optimise the subscriber customer journey and other subscriber benefits from onboarding to product feature launches across channels including EDM, paid digital, print and owned channels.

Collaborate with CRM and digital specialists to ensure ongoing optimisation of campaigns, including audience strategy and driving performance objectives.

Create robust campaign plans to ensure marketing strategies are effectively briefed to stakeholders, and commercial objectives are met.

Own the creative development process for campaigns, working with in-house design and external creative teams (as required) to execute creative optimisation for each channel in line with brand guidelines.

Engage in ongoing campaign tracking, testing, reporting and analysis to form and communicate insights and recommendations into campaign performance, customer behaviour, and subscription engagement metrics.

Build strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including our editorial and product teams.

Ensure effective campaign management processes, including creative approvals, budget reconciliation, campaign tracking and documentation.

Manage a capable and conscientious Marketing Executive.

You are:
A self-starter with a minimum of 5 years direct experience in a marketing function with strong email marketing experience.

Experienced in building and optimising customer journeys, including performance metrics, channels, and best practice.

Strong in end-to-end marketing and campaign management, including developing strategy, briefing creative and media processes.

Talented at delivering creative ideas and innovative campaigns, as well as using data to drive your decision-making.

Proactive towards fostering strong stakeholder relations with demonstrated ability to build buy in and gain agreement for strategies and concepts.

Experienced in driving results through strategic and tactical marketing plans.

Able to collaborate effectively and present confidently to internal and external stakeholders.

Capable of meeting deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.

Have an acute attention to detail even in fast-paced environments.

If you’re looking for your next challenge in a fun, rewarding environment, then this could be the role for you. Our people move fast and act smart: if this sounds like you, then let’s talk!
