Full Job Description
We are looking for a talented Business Development Manager: Rail, Locomotive Defence - Asia Pacific to join our team based in our Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne. You will be responsible for managing rail, locomotive and defence accounts of strategic importance to Cummins, and of considerable complexity. Identifying and prioritizing all opportunities from those accounts as well as driving other sales opportunities within this segment.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Responsible for opportunity management which includes identifying new growth opportunities and managing new business growth for a key market segment or in a specified region or channel
Working with sales, marketing, and product leaders to identify strategies targeting growth by participating in efforts such as strategy workshops
Managing the analysis, measurement, and tracking of market sales potential across assigned brands, channels, regions, products, etc.
Champion new growth and product ideas; manages special projects that have cross regional implications
Build processes and procedures to understand competition and input to market lead pricing propositions for designated areas
Collaborates with internal business managers on business development initiatives and plans
Presents business development reports to leadership
Coach and motivate business development staff; providing guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegate works assignments considering employee skills and development needs as required.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Ideally 2+ years’ experience in business development in the technical or/and rail, locomotive and/or defence sector
Demonstrated experience in influencing the market, customers and internal business lines to position Cummins as a leader within the segment
Excellent relationship building and communication skills
Commercial awareness and numeracy to analyse reports and understand margins
Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of a highly matrixed organization and the ability to work across cross-functional, cross-organizational teams - aptitude to partner and collaborate
Action orientated with a strong drive to achieve results
