About Department
St Vincent’s Pathology is a not not-for-profit Pathology Service providing a broad range of Pathology services to a number of teaching hospitals, private hospitals, specialists and general practitioners around Melbourne. The Billing Team operates within the Pathology Management section and comprises 4 FTE. It is responsible for all invoicing, payment receipts and debt recovery associated with pathology testing.

About the Role
The Pathology Billing Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Pathology Billing Team.

Duties

Manage the resources of the area to achieve documented outcomes

Interact with management to set targets for work level achievement

Report on activity of the unit

Ensure documentation of workplace processes are reviewed and updated

Contribute to the development of Pathology Accounts policy and procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

A degree or diploma in an appropriate discipline and extensive experience in a similar role

Excellent knowledge of accounting practices as they relate to billing

Experience in the management of a billing section

Knowledge of billing practices for Pathology testing

Knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule particularly as it relates to Pathology
