Job description


Leighton O’Brien is currently in search of an experienced Accounts Receivable & Payroll Specialist to join the finance team, based in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and proactive individual to take on the responsibility for the accounts receivable function, including follow up and collection of overdue payments as well as ownership of the end-to-end processing of payroll. This role is suited to someone who is a great communicator with strong customer service and problem-solving skills. The company is going through tremendous growth and this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to play an active role in contributing to the finance strategy whilst developing their career.


Your responsibilities include but may not be limited to:


  • Must have exceptional organisational and task management abilities
  • End to end AR exposure including debt recovery
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Ensure documentation is kept up-to-date and actions are followed up via phone calls and email.
  • Lead / Assist project to establish and maintain customer credit facility and other process improvements
  • Weekly reporting on accounts receivable including at risk debt
  • Process Payroll for approx. 150 team members
  • Other ad-hoc duties and administrative support


Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable including collections
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with operations and finance teams
  • Have high professional and ethical standards
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Appropriate handling of sensitive information
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
