The Mental Health Professional Development Unit (MHPDU) provides professional leadership to Mental Health clinicians practicing in Bendigo Health by driving mental health workforce innovation in the areas of lived experience, clinical, educational and research interests with development of skills and knowledge consistent with national standards.


The Clinical Educator deliver professional development programs, hold subject expertise portfolios, act as project leads and provide clinical supervision to Mental Health Services clinicians and students at Bendigo Health.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Provide and/or co-ordinate professional support, education and training to all inpatient and community Mental Health Services staff

  • Facilitate preceptorship of student nurses and post graduate nurses working in Mental Health Services

  • Develop and participate in the graduate, transition and mental health clinician education and professional development study days

  • Support and undertake workforce capacity building projects

  • Deliver specialist mental health training and consultation to internal and external services
