About the Role

The Support Officer, HR Assist sits within the HR Services team of P&WS and supports the HR Assist HR helpdesk function, reporting to the Team Leader, HR Assist.

As the Support Officer, HR Assist, you will be responsible for:
  • responding directly to general HR enquiries
  • providing efficient, effective and customer focused HR support to managers and employees
  • triaging queries to specialist HR areas within P&WS or regional HR areas where required
  • providing administrative support to the HR Services team.
This is a hands-on role that will require you to apply your strong organisational skills with an ability to:
  • prioritise and manage workloads
  • work productively under minimal supervision
  • provide exceptional customer service to employees.
About You

This is a unique opportunity to build your experience and skill base in a role that offers exposure to a wide range of HR support and administrative functions. You will engage with a varied stakeholder base that spans the entire DJCS.

As our ideal candidate, you will have:
  • proven customer service experience and exposure to a helpdesk/service environment
  • solid knowledge of contemporary HR practices and preferably, HR/Payroll systems
  • excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills and experience providing advice and building collaborative relationships
  • strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
  • demonstrated administrative skills including managing databases and creating spreadsheets whilst maintaining confidentiality of personal information
  • experience working autonomously whilst managing, prioritising and multi-tasking your own workload.
The HR Assist helpdesk will operate a roster system between the hours of 8am to 6pm.

Applicants must be flexible to work between these hours, for a period of 7.6 hours per day.
