The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. Role: Senior Program Officer (until 31 Decemeber 2021)

Position Summary:

The Senior Program Officer will assist the Learning and Development Lead and Principal Communications Adviser to complete performance improvement projects and assist with communications.

  • Project management of improvement projects, including systems, processes and data collection reviews and enhancements
  • Identification of operational improvements, and partnering with stakeholders to implement them.
  • Refinement of governance models, and documentation of clear plans and strategies
  • Robust consultation with stakeholders

Responsibilities: 

  • Working with stakeholders to develop education sessions or programs to meet operational policy needs.
  • Prepare Educational materials for delivery.
  • Manage and facilitate ICCOM and LPHU education sessions without supervision.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to coordinate the development of learning and stakeholder engagement materials to support the response to COVID-19.
  • Proactively identify possible barriers to success and develop mitigating strategies that seek to resolve any issues.
  • Liaise with other government areas and key industry sectors.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
  • Develop effective communications, and tailor material to suit audience needs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and manage risk, and contribute to the risk management processes across the Branch
  • Manage a range of projects/functions each with increased budget, staff responsibilities or strategic importance.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Responds and tailors activities to clients' needs to provide outstanding levels of service; constructively deals with service issues that arise in a timely manner.
