Your new company
My client, a boutique law firm in Melbourne is seeking a lawyer to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis with an immediate start.

Your new role
In this role, you will work on a broad range of litigious and commercial matters. You will be responsible for drafting correspondence and liaising with clients, preparing litigation and court related documents; and assisting with legal research.
Areas the role covers are:·

  • Civil litigation – Shareholder disputes, Insolvency matters, Building defect disputes, OC disputes, Contractual disputes·
  • Property law – Easements, Covenant removals – council and via supreme court, Trespass claims, Sale of land disputes, Leasing (drafting) and leasing disputes·
  • Commercial - Sale of businesses, Shareholder agreements, Sale of share agreements, Terms and conditions for websites·
  • IP - Trademark applications, Trademark and IP disputes, Rare copyright dispute·
  • Insurance - Insurance denial claims, property or motor vehicle claims, Insurance claims, assist with submissions to insurer, insurance policy interpretation issues·

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will ideally have:·
  • Admitted to practice as a legal practitioner.
  • 2+ years' post admission experience
  • A Law degree from a reputable university where you achieved a strong academic results·
  • Intellectual and organisational capacity to conduct your own files·
  • The ability to draft pleadings and an understanding of commercial realities
