Your new company

You will be joining a well established federal government organisation who's goal is to deliver excellence in service children, families and parties involved in child and family disputes. You would be engaged as a consultant to support this organisation to meet the increasing demand for qualified clinical staff to complete child and family assessment reports.

Your new role

You will be responsible for managing allocated family assessment requests and undertaking a comprehensive in person interview with the family and child. To conduct interviews you will need to have your own office or meeting space to accommodate interviewing children and family members. You will be responsible for reviewing case history in addition to in person interviews and provide a family report which will support and determine outcomes around child custody and parenting responsibilities. This role offers a unique level of flexibility as interviews with families and report writing can be managed within your current working responsibilities. On average a family assessment report will take 20 hours to complete.

This is an Ad Hoc position where work is allocated based on demand, the minimum requirement is to complete one report per month however it is possible to work more than this.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Psychologists (AHPRA) and Social Workers (AASW)
  • 5 years minimum post graduate experience working with families and children
  • Strong experience in child development theory and the impact of separation of families
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written, particularly within report writing
  • Experience working with family violence and abuse
  • Comprehensive understanding of trauma informed risk assessments
  • Rooms or meeting space to facilitate family interviews is essential
