About The Role

As COO, you will be overall responsible for Operations within Opening solutions Pacific/NEA which includes our factories in Australia, New Zeeland and Korea. The role also includes overall responsibility for Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, H&S, and Facilities. You will lead the developments of the operations to support a profitable growth within the region. You will also lead the strategy for operational excellence, including site locations, consolidations, utilizing automation and lean methodology, to be able to deliver excellent customer value and best in class products.

You are expected to contribute in creating and developing our new organization. We want to reduce complexity and to lay an efficient foundation for strong future growth in the region. This offers a unique opportunity for you to shape your role in a dynamic environment. The Opening solutions Pacific/NEA organization includes current and future operations in Australia, New Zeeland, Japan and Korea. The region has about 1500 employees. In this role, you will report directly to Executive Vice President and Head of ASSA ABLOY Opening solutions Pacific/North East Asia. The role will be located in Melbourne, Australia.

You will play an active and important role in implementing the ASSA ABLOY Group strategy, vision and the four strategic actions; growth through customer relevance, product leadership through innovation, cost efficiency in everything we do and evolution through people.

Other Key Responsibilities Include

  • Deliver results according to budget and KPI’s
  • Integration of newly acquired manufacturing sites
  • Develop and implement tools, processes, and methods to improve efficiency and results
  • Measure, monitor, manage, and report results on all Operations KPIs
  • Drive collaboration with other operations entities and other relevant stakeholders
  • Drive quality, implementing efficient and effective issue resolution
  • OPEX
  • Execute and development of MFP programs
About You

You are a self-starter, with a strong flair for innovation and an attitude for excellence. You have an advanced technical understanding, and a keen interest in digitization and new technologies. You listen to everyone while making yourself heard at all levels of the organization. You can navigate comfortably in diverse matrix teams, and that you can inspire collaboration and share knowledge. As a leader you lead by example, give responsibility generously and empower others to take ownership – of their work, their development and their results.

We Also Think That You Have
  • Approx. 10 years of experience from a similar role and at least some years working in an industrial matrix organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar
  • Experience from acquiring and integrating manufacturing operations
  • Strong and proven leadership skills
  • Broad experience on delivering operational excellence and consolidation manufacturing operations
  • Experience from working with different distribution models
  • Fluent in English
We also think that this role will require a bit of travelling.
