We're looking for two Assurance Analysts to join our second line Risk and Assurance Team to support the delivery of risk and assurance engagements and the business manage its material business and strategic risks. The opportunity is a chance to join a high performing team, rapidly developing as a trusted advisor to the InfraCo and Telstra executive.

As one of our Assurance Analysts, you will be involved in the planning, delivery and reporting of our second line risk management and assurance activities at Telstra InfraCo. Through your experience in risk management and internal audit you will form a key role in InfraCo's second line Risk and Compliance function working alongside the Assurance Team Lead to plan and deliver the InfraCo Assurance Plan. Comfortable in the delivery of a variety of audit and risk management engagements, but with an eye to continually develop your skills as your careers takes a critical turn, your strong report writing, and verbal presentation skills will see you excel in the role.

As a Risk and Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for…

  • Working alongside the Senior Assurance Specialist to execute assurance engagements including end-to-end process reviews and health checks on the integrated assurance plan.
  • Under the supervision of the Senior Assurance Specialist, plan and execute assigned engagements, ensuring high quality fieldwork and reporting is delivered according to InfraCo Risk and Assurance methodology and IIA standards within the agreed time budgets. This includes efficient delivery of quality workpapers, including walkthroughs, control identification, control design assessments and control operating effectiveness testing
  • Form effective working relationships with business contacts to gather and verify facts and obtain agreement on identified control gaps/ weaknesses.
  • Preparation of reports for an executive audience on the design and operating effectiveness of controls for management of material operational and strategic risks.
  • Developing and maintaining trusted and effective working relationships with executive stakeholders.
  • Assessment of management's actions to address risks identified through the delivery of the assurance plan.
  • HSE Responsibility: Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with and implement any reasonable Telstra HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support Telstra to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation.

To be successful in this role, you must have…

  • 2-3+ years' experience in a leading risk management consulting firm, or a listed organisation's second- or third-line function focused on advising executives stakeholders on key strategic and operational risk and the control environment.
  • Experience in delivering internal audits, reviews and health checks.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment will be favourable.
  • A developing understanding of the "3 lines of defence" model.
  • An understanding of the importance of stakeholder engagement and management skills, an awareness of your personal authenticity and willingness to continually develop your skills to influence stakeholders to achieve complex outcomes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with stakeholders, operational staff, and senior management.
  • Experience in the delivery of projects in highly complex and regulated environments.
  • Ability to deliver structured thinking in a variety of contexts.
  • Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multitask and navigate competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a small team to delivery multiple projects.
  • Willingness to gain an understanding of operational challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and to tight timelines.
