We are looking for a Senior Engineer to be based in Shepparton for one of our clients who is a leader in the Civil Engineering field.

The role will include a broad range of land development works and infrastructure projects including road, draining, sewer and water.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Scope projects and develop fee proposals.
  • Financial management of engineering component of projects
  • Identify and track variations and preparation of invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with the QA system including checklists, procedures, and document control requirements.
  • Develop functional designs of required infrastructure.
  • Mentor junior staff, as required.
  • Client Liaison either solely or in conjunction with Project Managers
  • Liaison with service authorities to determine requirements and resolve project related issues.
  • Ensures projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Prepare estimates, works programs and strategic engineering reports.
  • Participate in interviews and presentations.
  • Serve as a representative at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.
  • Identify and manage risks and deliverable, while keeping the project manager informed.
  • Overview specifications tender and contract documentation and design reports for road, drainage, sewer, and water (main infrastructure) as required.
  • Prepare detailed designs and computations.
  • Preparation of detailed design plans
  • Prepare construction schedules and quantities for tender documentation.
  • Undertake site inspections from time to time.

The Successful Applicant:

  • Ideally, you will have 5 years+ experience in land development projects including medium density residential (it must be Australian experience)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Environmental Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong practical knowledge engineering techniques
  • Ability to use a range of computer software applications such as 12D and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Understand planning and environmental legislation.
  • Water Authority Accreditation preferred.
  • Developing project management skills
  • Expert knowledge of civil engineering design and common infrastructure construction techniques.
  • Proven ability to deliver engineering outcomes on time within budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Ability to conduct and understand technical analysis.
