Location: Melbourne - CBD Salary: $101,120 to $122,348 + super. Position No: 50930444 Do you have demonstrated stakeholder management skills? Do you enjoy critical thinking and problem-solving? Are you future focused? The successful applicant will contribute to the development of the national energy market regulatory frameworks as they apply to Victoria.

The Senior Policy Officer, Wholesale Markets and Security will contribute to the development of the national energy market regulatory frameworks as they apply to Victoria. This includes assisting senior Victorian officials to effectively participate in national energy policy making forums. It also includes advising the Government on when, and how, Victoria should modify the application of national energy market frameworks.

The successful applicant will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail. As a technical content owner, this role will be responsible for the credibility and integrity of the information provided to senior decision makers.

The role requires clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills and the ability to quickly learn new technical and policy issues in order to provide analytical support in a fast paced and highly complex policy space. It also requires extensive and effective collaboration with national energy market bodies, other Victorian Government agencies, and other jurisdictions.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in engineering, science, law, economics, public policy, or similar is desirable.
  • Experience in energy markets is highly desirable.
