About BWCPM

The Barbara Walker Centre for Pain Management (BWCPM) is located at St Vincent’s Hospital Fitzroy, and is predominantly an ambulatory (outpatient) inter-disciplinary service that provides assessment, treatment and consultation for patients with persistent pain. The service comprises specialist pain clinicians (Pain Medicine Physicians, Pain Medicine trainees, Psychiatrist, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Allied Health Assistant and Research Assistant) working as an integrated team to address the medical, physical and psycho-social factors contributing to the persistence of pain and its consequent disability. The clinic services a diverse group of clients from around Victoria, including those in correctional facilities.

BWCPM is part of the Health Independence Programs (HIP). HIP aims to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning.

This position will be based at the SVHM Fitzroy site, and may be required to travel to other sites, including correctional facilities, to support engagement with key services and stakeholders involved in the delivery of healthcare to Victorian prisoners.

About the Role

You will deliver and co-ordinate the “Better Approach to Chronic Pain Management for Prisoners in Victoria” SVHA Inclusive Health Funded project. You will be working closely with other project staff, HIP Management, BWCPM staff, internal and external stakeholders, to lead the project, including responsibility for timely delivery and reporting of outcomes to the Inclusive Health Fund and the project Steering Committee.

Classifications for this position will range from:
  • Physiotherapist Grade 4 VB24 - VB27 ($113,640- $125,210 per annum)
  • Social Worker Grade 4 SC53 - SC46 ($113,640- $125,210 per annum)
  • Occupational Therapist Grade 4 VG14 - VG17 ($113,640- $125,210 per annum)
  • Registered Nurse Grade 5 ZA7 - ZA8 ($112,476 - $115,154 per annum)
Duties
  • Lead and co-ordinate project
  • Literature Review and benchmarking
  • Data collection and evaluation, including utilising ePPOC data set, BWCPM waiting list and external tertiary institution evaluation
  • ​Engage with internal and external stakeholders for data collection, issue identification and planning of future model
  • report progress to HIP Stream Manager, Project Steering Committee and Inclusive Health Fund
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification within a health related discipline, including AHPRA registration where applicable, and/or eligibility to join relevant professional association if applicable.
  • Achievement of relevant postgraduate qualifications, (Project Management qualifications of MPH highly regarded)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Satisfactory Police Check
