We have a contract opportunity ending February 2022 for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner (Victoria) to support the Roads Business. Based in Collins Street (or depot location that suits) you will work within a collaborative and driven national team of HR professionals to support operations to achieve business plan objectives. This is an autonomous position that would be suited to candidates with exposure in Engineering, Construction and Heavy industrial sectors that have a large blue-collar workforce.
As a solution’s-based generalist HR practitioner, you will understand how employees make a difference to an organisation, including the effects that employment, engagement, retention, development and industrial legislation have to achieve operational objectives.
About You
Ideally, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and have exposure to Construction, Engineering or Heavy Industrial sectors.
Central to this role;
- Stakeholder engagement within complex matrix environments will enable you to act as the conduit between the business, our centres of expertise and Downer Infrastructure group office in the delivery of HR solutions;
- An HR generalist with exposure and understanding in the areas of Performance Management and Succession Planning;
- The ability to understand and apply effective engagement techniques to develop value add trust-based relationships;
- The ability to mentor and manage two direct reports
- Experienced in managing and supporting the delivery of HR strategies, policies and procedures;
- Builds strong business relationships with a true understanding of the client requirements;
- Attuned to the processes of change at micro and macro levels including interventions to change behaviours at the individual, group and business level;
- Experienced in the delivery of performance management processes, policies and programmes to achieve optimal results;
