The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Education Development Officer within the Education and Training Department.

The Education Development Officer will Work with the Accreditation Committee (AC) to develop accreditation visitor support materials which may include e-learning modules and handbooks. Will also be responsible for Working with the Committee for Training (CFT) and Directors of Training (DOTs) to develop support materials and resources for supervisors which may include online resources.

This role has a specific focus to:

  • Working with the Committee for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD) on the review and redevelopment of the Practice Visit program including specification of requirements for integration into online systems.
  • Development and implementation of education project outcomes as allocated.
  • Consult and liaise with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Undertake data gathering and analysis for the initiatives.
  • Ensure integrity of project data demonstrated by maintaining records through existing organisational quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure that outcomes, deadlines, and reporting timelines are met within the scope of the position.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop funding proposals, prepare budgets and summaries as required.
  • Prepare correspondence and maintain effective electronic and hard copy records for the relevant project.
  • Contribute to the development of interim and final reports detailing progress and achievements as directed.
  • Collaborate on project teams to provide written advice, presentations, and briefing papers for relevant Committees in relation to educational developments as required.
  • Operational support of associated education committees or working groups. This includes, but is not limited to preparing agenda, minutes, complete actions, and briefing documents as required according to department protocols.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably with a health care background or experience in a similar role in tertiary education.
  • An understanding or demonstration of project management skills including research, analysis, planning, organisational, and time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage time and resources efficiently and to deliver solutions on time and to specification.
  • Established capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a team member and to undertake work independently and with supervision.
  • Advanced organisational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, use initiative, establish priorities and work to tight or competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including evidence of clear and concise writing for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive, effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent information literacy with demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, databases, and web.
