Senior Manager Permits

  • Annual Salary Range: VPS STS- $168,470 - 229,121 + Super
  • Tenure: Fixed Term [3 Years]
  • Employment Type: Full Time (flexible work arrangements may be available)
  • Usual Location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

About the Team

To deliver transport services across all modes that provides a single user interface to the transport network.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Permits is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Permitting team, overseeing the coordination and controlled approval process of requests for access to the Victorian network. This includes leading and mentoring the team, negotiation of funding agreements, resource planning associated with internal and external works and continued efficiency through continual improvement and technical innovation.

About You

As our ideal candidate you will:

  • Extensive leadership capability to effectively lead, manage, motivate and develop employees in line with the Department of Transport's values and objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Victorian transport network and awareness of key transport issues.
  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated experience in the planning of transport operations with a focus on road permit planning, planned disruptions planning or similar complex area.
  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex operational service delivery problems consistent with program objectives, in a high volume, high paced and dynamic environment with competing demands, including high level process management skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategy design and project management implementation experience to improve processes and increase efficiencies.
  • Experience in interpreting legislation/regulatory requirements and operationalising obligations to reduce risk to the State.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with direct team, senior internal stakeholders and external bodies to consult, negotiate and embed changes to ensure beneficial outcomes for the State.
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical ability in conducting research and analysing data, to embed innovative solutions that result in an improvement in service delivery.
