Radar Technician -Defence/Electronics/Communications

Excellent opportunity to join an industry leading Defence contractor in as a Radar Technician for one of the companies flagship national projects.

Your new company
Our client is an International supplier in the growing Victorian Defence industry. Following continuous project wins and future growth plans, they are now seeking to expand their team in Melbourne with a Radar Technician

Your new role
You will be joining an experienced and forward-thinking team and report directly into the Project Manager. You will play an integral part in the success and growth of this growing organisation and support the broader capability of the business. You will be responsible for leading installation, testing, diagnostics, repair, maintenance and upgrade work on weather radars.

• Carry out technical maintenance and repair in accordance with approved maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Diagnose technical defects/equipment issues and implement the appropriate corrective actions
• Perform site and workshop-based maintenance on advanced electronic equipment such as communication and electronics control systems.
• Carry out rectification of deficiencies and defects within the site systems and/or in a workshop environment.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will require the following:

• Previous experience working with Electronics equipment, preferably Radar and Communications Systems.
• UHF / Radar experience
• Demonstrated ability in the maintenance and configuration of computers, networks, and associated network systems. (IE knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers, and servers).
• Previous experience in the Installation, field fault diagnosis and repair of electronics equipment.
• Electrical/Electronic/Communications Trade Qualifications
• Ability to work autonomously in remote sites across Australia and Pacific Islands for up to 6 weeks at a time.
• Currently hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
