General Counsel:

We are looking for an experienced legal professional to work closely with the Board of Directors, CEO and Executive Team in our large regional health service.

You will have significant corporate or contract law experience, strong corporate advisory, contractual drafting, advisory and problem solving skills as well as an understanding of the health industry.

To be successful in this full time role you will be a top tier trained lawyer with broad experience across a variety of corporate legal issues. Preferably you will have worked in a senior in-house role within a health service.

Selection Criteria Essential: 01.Bachelor of Law or equiverlent tertiary qualification from a recognised university

Essential: 02.Current practicising certificate permitting the holder to practice as a legal practitioner in Victoria

Essential: 03.A minimum of 10 years post admission experience, preferably includin experience as in-house counsel

Essential: 04.Demonstrated high level of skills and experience in current legal practice, with particular reference to law relevant to the function of a public health service

Essential: 05.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels within the organisation

Essential: 06.Ability to operate in an environment of change

Desirable: 07.Demonstrated ability to apply high level corporate legal skills to the environment of a public health service

Desirable: 08.Demonstrated knowledge of the role and function of a public health service and experience as General Counsel functioning as legal advisor

Desirable: 09.Demonstrated knowledge of key concepts relating to corporate governance and risk management as they relate to the role and function of a public health service. Experience in working in the public health sector will be well regarded, but is not essential
